ATIA 2025 Conference Presentation
Our two ELC Staff Members Bryn Brighton and Nancy Walsh (Assistive Technology Facilitators) had a fantastic opportunity to be presenters at the ATIA 2025 Conference in Orlando, Florida. The conference took place on January 30th to February 1st. ATIA is where the Assistive Technology community comes together and these conferences have been the leading community-building and learning event for all things Assistive Technology, including: new technologies, opportunities, and creative ideas that support the power of the AT community.
Using the UDL guidelines, Bryn and Nancy created a poster that pairs mainstream technology with each of the guidelines to be used as tier one strategies. This is a quick reference guide that allows educators to feature-match and identify tools that they have at their disposal to provide multiple means of engagement and for multiple means of representation for students to demonstrate their knowledge. Awareness of UDL tools gives teachers the power to implement interventions before contacting a specialist for intensive interventions/multidisciplinary problem solving. This quick reference can be taken back to districts to present to stakeholders as a training tool for building capacity amongst their teachers.
